Anyway, they really like crackers, and they like to say cracker, loudly and often, during Sacrament meeting, when crackers help us keep them semi in line (though I think the power of the cracker is fading. Curses!) Unfortunately, "cracker" (and "quack-quack," which is what must be said when a duck of any sort is spotted) sounds very, very similar to caca, and anyone who has been a fourth-grader knows that caca means poop in Spanish.
My friend Ileana totally thought Bran was saying it about a picture of a potty in a little book she was showing him during Sacrament meeting a couple of weeks ago, but we determined it was really "quack-quack," in reference to the rubber ducky. So now we are the parents of children who shout "poop!" in the middle of church. I mean, they shout agua, so it wouldn't be a stretch to think they're also speaking Spanish when they say caca. Now we just repeat, as loudly as is polite, "Sí, crackers, galletas!" and hope people clue in. If you watch the video, you'll see what I mean.
p.s. Happy Mother's Day! Especially to our wonderful mothers, we love you! :)

Wow, that is a really, really dumb title. We were tired. It was 11pm-ish when we posted it (um,10mins ago), and it seemed funny, but I see now that it's not. But I'm going to bed, so yeah...just a disclaimer that we already KNOW it's a kinda gross title.
Very nice Fiona, I'm glad this became a post. I'm sure the people at church have figured it out and enjoy a good laugh from it.
You guys are so hilarious!! I love the "Si, crackers, galletas!" part....
Very funny. Oh, the joys of parenting.
I actually liked the title. I couldn't wait to see the story behind it! I think it's so cute they're talking no matter what language. I'm picking up my DVD today from the library on teaching sign language to babies. You know that video reminds me of my two kitties...fighting over the food dish...fighting over who gets to sleep on top of me...loved it!
they are sooo funny and cute i love that it sounds like they are saying CACA! LOL
love you guys!
The word I am hearing is not cracker... :o) I'm glad your kids have a good foundation to build on though, ;)
Seeing them say it I can totally tell they are saying "cracker" but that's because it appears that they are signing it as well (are they?).
Zac, I am tagging you now. You can see my blog if you need instructions. :-)
Yeah, they are signing it, too. And I will make sure Zac knows he has been tagged! He will feel so included :)
Thanks for the lol experience :)Loved the video and the cracker discussion...so, is that how one signs it...by grabbing left arm with right hand? (Guess I need that video after Rochelle is done with it!) Love, Mom (Dad too) xox
