Here are some pictures from our freakishly cold Memorial Day. Alright, it wasn't freakishly cold for being late autumn, but I decided I only like the reversed seasons when it's warm for us and cold for the rest of y'all. Well, a couple of weeks and we'll be back in summer in the good old USA! Anyway, this is the park that's a couple of blocks from our house. It's where I bring the kiddos a few times a week. It's way easier and more fun for EVERYONE when there's one adult per child. We had a good time with Daddy home :) See, imagine monitoring the below situation, where both want to climb, and sometimes not even the same structure! Huge gaps, hard ground, pokey things sticking out, aye, yi, yi!
The slides are made of planks of wood. I totally snagged and ultimately ruined a pair of my favorite pants that I'd had for FOUR years on a slide like this...darn it all, I had to buy more!
Look at these autumn colors! In MAY!
They have little kid swings, but man, we didn't get a picture of them! At this park, they don't have a little bar thing that goes vertically between their legs and attaches to the main safety bar...wow, that sounded confusing. Anyway, they don't have that bar, and Nuala almost always gets this close to slipping out, this close! (I'm doing the "this close" finger-and-thumb thing...) But big swings are infinitely cooler, of course! The "chains" aren't chains, so no finger pinching. How long before they start doing the swing high and jump thing? Remember that? Ah, those were the days!
That evening, we went to a BBQ at our friends', the Powells, house. All the senior missionaries were there, too, it was a lot of fun! The twins had a blast playing with the big kids (9, 6, 4, or thereabouts). There were little bicycles, and a John Deere tractor toy to ride, and loads of balls! What could be better. Oh, and a yummy jello dessert in patriotic colors that had them pooping bright green the next day. I was a little...um...surprised until I remembered the vivid blue jello.

Um that slide...ouch! Cute, cute pictures of the kiddos, and as always I love your description of life.
Autumn in May...how odd...Beautiful though...the kids look great in autumn. I love all the leaves. Ouch on the slide...don't they get slivers?
hmmmm... so are they good about having the slivers removed???? oh ait they wear diapers... so how about those slivers Fiona???
Sounds like y'all had a fun Memorial Day...the pictures are so cute! Bran and Nuala are just so dang adorable. I can only hope our kids will be that cute ;)That is really sad about losing your pants to the slide, it totally sounds like an awkward way to make a slide!
I totaly need a new camera! the pictures of the kids in the leaves and park came out awesome!
Sounds like a fun day! The pictures are awesome.
