Sierra de las Animas

Saturday we went hiking at a place called Sierra de las Animas. It's actually really close to our favorite beach and that awesome wildlife reserve. All that stuff is just the right distance away, about an hour, so the kiddos usually fall asleep on the way there and wake up about when we arrive. Maybe we'll branch out to stuff that's two hours away and see how it goes...I mean, they behaved pretty well on all those super long flights, so naturally they will be angels in the van, right? Right.

It was a pretty spot, Uruguay has some gorgeous scenery! We could see all the way to the ocean along parts of the path. There were also some "wild" horses, which the babies loved, BUT, the best part by far was a big rock in the middle of the path, just ask Bran and Nuala. We didn't make it past there. In fact, we hung out there for more than half an hour, playing and pushing and jumping and exploring and having a great old time!

There was a super cool roly poly that Bran was excited to find. Poor thing probably had about 200 heart attacks, seeing little fingers jab at it constantly. Then we walked back and drove ten minutes to the wildlife reserve again. Hey, we really needed some of their ice cream! And to play just a little. And to see our pals the capybaras again. One capy flopped over on her side and I'm pretty sure she wanted Bran to scratch her tummy, but even sticking his little arm through the fence, he couldn't reach. Maybe if he had a stick, or one of those back scratchers. Something to think about for next time ;)

And, now...are you ready for some serious cuteness?? The twins had a little hug-fest on their big rock. Awwww, proof that they really do love each other! (I had to try one in sepia, and it looks neat, but I do prefer my babies in full color.)

I like the sepia picture...have you been experimenting more with the camera? Don't forget that you can do all those colour changing/accenting things as well. You should try some of those out with the twins. Take care.

I love the fact that you let your kids explore. You don't rush them away to get to the end of the path...if the attraction of the day is a big rock...then let's play on the big rock! Great photos! Your babies are so darling!

They are seriously some cute kids! Love the hugging picture especially the sepia one, if you have options on your camera do experiment, it's so fun and means more photos for us! I wish I could meet them I know it would be so fun to hang out with them (I'll even make ice cream!).

Actually, it's a color picture that I just changed to sepia on the computer, but yeah, there are some cool options just on the camera itself, I should mess around with it more. Ahhh...the wonders of the digital age!

And homemade ice cream, huh? I'm sure we can work a sidetrip to UT into our summer/winter plans...I wish!
