Yesterday I went shopping with Erin and her kiddos. Hmmm...shopping? I don't think you can actually do that with an almost-3 and almost-1 year old. Honestly, they did pretty great, but after one store I volunteered to sit in the van with them while Erin zipped in and out of a couple of other places.
Little kid memories are amazing, and Liam is no exception. He never fails to ask me what's in my bag, since usually there's some sort of tasty snack or two (even if I wasn't pregnant, ya gotta be prepared). I dug up some dried apricots and a granola bar and two baggies of almonds. He was after chocolate, but no luck. That goes quickly.
Apparently he stuffed a few too many almonds in his mouth at one point, because I noticed he was very quiet and munching away for an awfully long time. I kept reading him "The Littlest Reindeer," enjoying the peace. Until he reached over and grabbed my wrist, pulling my hand to him. I was confused for a moment, then realized he was positioning his mouth over it. No way, I don't think so! We jumped out of the van and he spit the almonds out in the parking lot. It was very spitty. Then he stepped in them. I'm pretty sure it was on purpose.
Although I soon will no longer be pregnant (is it possible!?!), I'm not a mom quite yet, so I feel I am entitled to enjoy my last few days of not having to accept, eat, wipe up, or otherwise interact with already-chewed food. Unless it's my own.
(OK, the title, "ABC food"...remember in elementary school or whenever, kids would say, "hey, want some ABC gum?" and it meant "Already Been Chewed". Yeah, just say no...)

Fiona! You are so cute. I am so excited for you to a mom! So soon! Can't wait to see pictures!!!
That almond paste sounds gross.
Speaking of ABC gum, there is a company BlueQ that "makes it." Well I don't think anybody is actually chewing the gum before you buy it, but that's what the package indicates! I saw it at a shop near 14th & U. This is what it looks like.
BlueQ sells lots of gum in funny packages.
Keep the funny stories coming!
You know you are a parent it doesn't bother you to catch that kind of food in your hand.
