Seattle -- the non-Rollins parts

Last post from our summer foray to the good ol' U. S. of A... We know about 6,598 people in Seattle. Or it feels like it, when we want to see so many friends in the short amount of time we're there. And we never do get to visit them all... only some lucky ones... haha... ;)

We hung out with Mike-and-Julie-of-the-awesome-backyard. You might remember them from such posts as "Antarctica! brrr.." since they went there with us. There's Bran, Jack, and Jonah above, eating cookies.

Here is a partial view of their awesome backyard, with their awesome zipline that Mike put in. It's super long, and really fun. The kids love it, and so do the grown-ups! They have a swing for it, or a thing you just dangle from your hands on, or...

...if you're small enough, a baby swing! Maeve had the honor of being the first baby to go on it. It looks like she wasn't too thrilled, but really, she liked it. She was fussy and crying before we put her in, then stopped to enjoy the ride, and then started up again once it ended. I had a good pic of her being HAPPY in it, but my computer munched it. Grrr.

More non-Rollinses... My sis and her family just moved to Washington! To Snoqualmie, which is a very pretty town near Seattle. Pretty? Gorgeous! They were still in a hotel when we visited them, just waiting for the nice lady to move out of their house. I got to go see their new place, and it's great. I'm excited for them to be in the Seattle area for a while. I'd love to live there for a couple of years, but I don't think I could do the permanent thing. I need more warmth... a little less rain. Though summer is lovely! Yeah, I could definitely do a couple of years...

This river was FREEZING. Of course. But it was fun. It goes through their little town, has a nice little beach/park area. Seriously, freezing. But very invigorating. There's Rob submerging himself. Erin and I did, too. Brrrrr!! Maeve and Aoife did not.

Also, I got to go see my old roomie, Emily! I love her :) Z does, too.

And our friends from Virginia! Oliver and Kristin and their two little girls, Clara and Anna. Clara was born in the same hospital on the same day as Nuala and Bran. Fun times. She is also the only 3-yr old we've met who is as tall as Nuala is. Bran is a little bit taller than both of them. Taaaallll 3-yr olds! All often (always) thought to be 4 or 5. We had a short but great visit with them! Yes... good times in Seattle.
