Next Year...

We will be enjoying the beautiful country of Bulgaria! I'm especially excited for our neighbor to the southeast...Turkey has been at the top of my to-experience list for quite a while. This was our first choice, so we feel very blessed to have gotten it, though any of the other assignments would have been awesome, too. But, PHEW! The wait is over. We will have friends in next-door Macedonia, a little-farther-off-but-still-nearby Croatia, and my sister and her family are in even-farther-off-but-still-way-closer-than-they-are-now Poland. We will sure be sad to leave Uruguay, but are looking forward to exploring Bulgaria and that area!

Ahhh...so close to Romania. Oh, well. You will have to go to Bucaresti at least once while you are there. Braun is also cool. It has "Dracula's castle."

What friends are in Croatia? HA HA just kidding!! That's awesome, you guys!! I'm so glad you got your FIRST choice, that rocks! And I'm so happy you actually know where you're going now; the waiting's a killer. We're totally meeting up and doing a fun vacation together somewhere, wouldn't that be fun? See you guys over here in a year!

Congrats on getting your first choice...I will try and come visit...Hopefully I'll be back over here by then. The twins look very cute, I hope they are completely over their illness.

Nuala is hilarious and your neighborhood is beautiful. Maybe the flights to Bulgaria will be cheaper. That would be so fun to visit. It seems like you just moved to Uruguay. Have fun and congratulations.

Congrats! That sounds like a great next adventure for you guys! Let me know if you want to know more about visiting Turkey. I have a good friend who lived in Turkey for 20 years, wrote his dissertation about the culture in that area, and whose son married a Turkish woman and lives in Turkey now. He might have some good recommendations on things to see/do if you run out of ideas! :)

I read a lot about Bulgaria today during lunch. I really knew nothing about Eastern Europe and thought it was a little lame until today. Boy was I wrong. I am jealous!!! I hope we can manage to come visit. What a great area (and surrounding countries also...)

Awesome! The pictures are beautiful! But, I can't figure out how you took them when you haven't even been to Bulgaria yet...I know, you must have borrowed Harry Potter's wand. haha
Dracula's Castle is very close...he could fly on over to where you are even...DUN DUN DUN DUHHHHHHH (Cue the spooky music...)
Congratulations!
