¡Feliz cumpleaños a mi!

Awww...what a cutie...Oh, it's me! When I was just a little girl...Today, that cute little thing is...29! Gasp! Oh boy, I hated wearing dresses. It was hard enough just getting them on me for church, which is where the above pic was taken. Hmm...that hasn't really changed. Actually, as I was typing "29" I accidentally hit the 3, making me 39. THAT made me gasp. Ten years from now that is how old I will be. Weird! 29's not so bad, my sweet bro told me I could still pass for 25. What a stretch, huh? Then there's my sis, who was 23 with a husband and baby and people still thought she was a teenager. A bus full of high schoolers once shouted "Abstinence!" at her while she was taking little Liam for a walk. It drove off as she was waving her wedding band at them. Poor Erin, the perils of looking perpetually young.

Also, today is our one year anniversary of being in Uruguay! That's right. We got here on my birthday last year, what a present! I can't believe our time here is more than 1/2 over...sad. We still don't know where we'll be next.

Anyway, I had a nice birthday. Except for scrubbing our toilet, which I guess was really my choice. But, THIS is why. Every 2-ish weeks, the guy from the Liga Sanitaria comes to clean out our grease trap and then does something to 4 of our toilets. I'm not sure what, I don't follow him around...but the water is always blue afterwards. This was a surprise to me, the first time he came. I was not prepared for him to traipse through my house and into my bathrooms. And to mess around with the toilets. So now I always have to make sure the toilet is presentable, especially if it's been a week or two since I've seen Daniel. That's the guy. Hey, I'd clean my toilets anyway, but he's really good motivation. Z thinks he wouldn't really notice. "C'mon," he says, "he's a guy!" But I can't take that chance. Anyway, he's due anytime now, since it's been 7 weeks from the last visit. Z is going to have to go at work until Daniel comes to enjoy my nice clean toilet. But enough about that! Why the heck am I talking about toilets in my birthday post?? I must be getting old.

My bro/sisters and my parents called and sang to me throughout the day, and Z brought me a great big chocolate cake full of dulce de leche. All four of us shared one slice. Muy rica. I got a bunch of books, and the greatest animated movie ever. The Chipmunk Adventure!! We watched a bit of it, and I still have parts memorized! Zachariah was very impressed. Actually, he asked me if that's what gave me the travel bug so long ago...maybe so... And now my honey is off getting us Chinese food, which is normally reserved for Friday nights. Except this Fri we're going to go see The Dark Knight....yahoo!! And here are some pictures of our munchkins from today...
First off, Nuala pining away for my cake, which is on the back porch. The only safe place since these two can now reach far back on the counters. Darn it.

Fat tummies from the cake. And they hadn't really eaten dinner yet. These peppers and tomatoes were just the beginning. Bran has been eating a TON lately, and his stomach is always huge before bed. Of course, he drinks a lot of water, too. It's just funny, because now and then when he's got the fat tummy, he'll look down at it like he's all surprised. Nuala's tummy in the next picture looks really fat, but she was kinda puffing it out. She was trying so hard to get me to take pictures of her! These two crack me up, we love them so much!!

Happy Birthday! I can't believe you got the Chipmunk Adventure, I'm totally jealous! It sounds like you had a good birthday, and pretty amazing cake if you all shared one slice! Your first paragraph reminded me of that story Mom likes to tell about hearing you pray for help to want to wear a dress to church!

Happy Birthday Fiona! What a wonderful 29 years it's been, of course I haven't been around for all of them, haha. Just kidding, I love that picture of you in that red dress, so rare :0) I'm surprised your knee isn't scraped!Their bellies are so funny! I can just imagine the fun you guys have. Incidently, we cleaned our toilets yesterday too!

That was classic...you in that lovely red dress, and...if I may add...a little thingy in your hair (you weren't too terribly excited about that type of stuff either:o}) The pics are great...poor Nuala; she is trying to devise a method of getting to that yummy looking cake. The pair of them with little pooch perches....you are saying... "what?" When Aislinn was a new little baby, Grandpa Ricker would have their little Chihuahua sit in that little space between a fat tummy and a chest...the little pooch (I forget her name; but she used to eat Fruit Loops) was very jealous of Aislinn, who was taking away some of her attention when we would visit... xox

I used to make my tummy pooch out and everyone would applaud and say do it again! Now that it pooches out all the time nobody thinks its cool anymore. I call it Alex and Dominics bean bag. I guess pooches are much cuter when you're a kid. Happy Birthday...loved the toilet conversation...it made me think I really need to clean my toilet...I wish I had a toilet man to do mine.
