3 months old (but still "zero")

Nuala and Bran were three months old yesterday! But still considered "zero." A little five-year-old at church, Lexi, asked me as she was holding Nuala, "Are they zero?" I answered, "Well, they're three months old tomorrow..." then remembering what it was like to be five, amended my response to "Yes, they're still zero."

Where did the time go? Oh, right...it was all sucked up into the looonnnggg nights at the beginning. I can't believe my babies aren't little newborns anymore! Sad, but also exciting to see them grow and change. Examples:

Sleeping up to 10 hours at night -- who'd have thought that would ever happen? Granted, it's not smooth going yet, still get a couple of wake-up-and-fuss incidents (except for the one night that we didn't hear a peep from 7pm till 5 am, then they ate and went back to bed from 5:30 till 8, when we had to wake them up for church! Still trying to figure out the secret to that night...), someone has to be moved to the swing or the hammock, but no more wanting to eat from about 7-5. Heaven!

Lots of smiling at and talking to us and their playmat jungle buddies. They're getting good at batting and grabbing the little hanging toys. Nuala especially loves the purple elephant. She'll arch her back and lie practically on her side to see him if he's behind her. He almost gets more grins than we do!

Bran grins at and talks to Nuala - so sweet! She"ll look at him now and then, but she's not quite as excited to discover him as he was her. (But we know she loves him, she used to be the one to stare at him, and always sleeps better when he's there.) They do gaze into each other's eyes often while they're nursing, that's very cute :)

Tummy time isn't quite the punishment it once was.

Um, they're bigger...they're too long for the leg pocket on their heaven-sent Miracle Blankets. Now we just wrap up their arms, leaving their little legs free to kick, kick, kick away! Sigh...We've even had to move them out of their cute, cozy cradle into the crib, finally... (Thanks for the crib, Kurt and Sylvia, we love it !)

It's been a good three months!
*I don't know why, but I can't get the pics to post in such a way that you can click them and they get bigger...that's why I posted them larger than usual...but I'm kinda annoyed with Blogger, as I'm sure it's their fault, and of course not mine!

Hi F & Z & N & B..... oh they are SO cute!!! I can't believe how much bigger they are now! I love the one where Nuala is smiling (and Bran, unusually, is not!)... they look so funny in the crib half-wrapped in the miracle blankets!!! Your blog info is amusing, as usual. I like the one where they are exercising their arm muscles too :) Wish we could see you all more often....
Love, Mom (and Dad too) xox

I LOVE the straightjackets! You might want to keep those around for when they get older, too. Hmmm...maybe I'll try our out on Declan... ;o)
They're both so completely adorable! I can't wait to see them next week!

Love, Aislinn, etc

Wow, they've grown SO much!! What lovely little babies. Nice work on the swaddling--the Incredible Hulk would struggle with that kind of restrainment. Kurt's trying it on Gavin and Bailey tonight...except with one big blanket wrapped around them both. That way they can't run.
