Moments like those just really help to balance out nights when I get woken up every 45 minutes by one child or the other. Or the other. I'm pretty certain they schedule it out in advance: "...okay, Bran, then at 2:36 you tell Mom that you're scared of the dark. She'll let you crawl in bed with them, and then I'll come in at 3:15-ish. Oh, wait... Maeve, did you want that slot, or can you take the 4am one? Great! Let's cut them some slack and give 'em an hour an a half then, since all five of us will be smashed in bed together and who REALLY sleeps when that happens (*giggling*)? If you remember, Maeve, pretend to fall asleep while you're nursing and then when Mom tries to roll over because her side is numb, wriggle and complain loudly. Oh, and don't forget to put your blankie over Daddy's face, Bran! It's soooo funny how the smell makes him gag! And then be ready at 5:30, sharp. Remember to ask Mom every 6 minutes if it's time for Dragon Tales. If she says she set the clock, cut back to every 11 minutes..." Unfortunately, sweet moments don't help me recover from such nights, but they do help reaffirm that they are more than worth it... ;)

oodles of doodles
Maeve, of course, likes to do anything and everything that Bran and Nuala do, and that includes artwork. She really, really, really likes to "help" them color whatever it is they're working on, which doesn't go over especially well. She also LOVES to swipe their little white boards and scribble away. I'm sure she thinks she's practicing her letters and numbers, and drawing scary aliens and fancy princesses, but her one-year old scribbles are just perfect! When she does join the little drawing duo, she usually comes toddling up to me after a few minutes, babbling away while holding out her masterpiece. I "oooh" and "ahhh" over it, and off she goes, to scribble a little more. *Sigh* :)

She is so beautiful! And she has sooo many teeth, I didn't realize what a little mouthful she has! Very nice scribbling skills, too. I was lol-ing (that means laughing out loud) while I read your description of them 'plotting' all the night time wake ups!
I lOve all these pictures! What a Beautiful girl indeed! Hahahaha! that's about your nighttime description! So awesome and awful...
Sooo cute! Your nighttime descriptions sound eerily familiar, but I only have one 4 year old, LOL. The whole nursing scenario is annoyingly accurate here, too. All the drawings are so adorable...impressive for a barely-1-year-old! <3
She is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Beautiful. I have missed so many posts! That Maeve pic of static hair is awesome.Oh btw, this is Megan Jentzsch
hahahaha.....I'm laughing because Ben said they tried getting into bed with him when he was there. Also Robyn is going through this. Alex gathers his toys and blanket and comes in and yells...mom!.....she wakes with a start and helps him up into the bed which already has a nursing Austin and husband Paul in it...she used to try putting him back in his own bed but just lost even more sleep. Good thing they have a King size bed! I only had a Double size bed which was lots of fun with 4 ppl in it! When I sleep on one now it feels like a twin size. lol......ah the joys of parenthood.
She is the cutest! What a great little grin!
Your re-creation of the kids planning their nightly assault on your sleep had me howling!! You crack me up. I'm so sorry Naia's short-lived illness (she was fine by Saturday morning) disturbed Nuala so much that you lost your mom time at ballet. Ugh! And yes, Maeve is seriously the cutest kid in the world.
