Tag!

My old roomie and good friend Keira (who I just recently got back in touch with...yeah Facebook!) tagged me. This is kinda a different one: You're supposed to go to your 6th picture file, and then pick the 6th picture in the folder and post it. She had a totally adorable picture of her little guy, so when my 6th picture turned out to be our cats, that didn't seem very interesting. All right, WE are very interested in our cats (who now live with Z's folks), but I was thinking of all y'all ;) So I thought, "well, maybe I'll do the 7th file, and 7th picture..." but I looked at that one and lo and behold! Another cat picture! So I figured it was meant to be. Here we have picture 6 from folder 6:

Finnigan and Mushi, who could sort of be known as the "original" Bran and Nuala. You should see how many pictures we have of these cats. Oh, they were fun. I know they look bored and annoyed and slightly angry in this picture, but they are cats, after all. That's the look.

And I couldn't resist posting that picture 7 from folder 7...Queenie. A super, super, super old kitty that my mom inherited from a sweet old lady in the ward, Sister Fox. She was actually rather tyrannical (Queenie, not Sister Fox), and kinda grouchy and we were all shocked that she lived for the 3 or 4 or 5 more years that she did. She had very long, thick, black hair, which is fine and dandy unless you live in Texas and become a mostly outdoor cat after a long life of semi-pampering mostly indoors. So off she went in the summers to be shaved by the vet. Never a flattering look for poor Queenie. Or any cat, I imagine...This picture from Summer 2006 made it very evident that under all that fur she was really a skinny thing. Oh, my parents took very good care of her! She was just getting old and not eating as much. My mom was a tad embarrassed to have this poor neglected-looking cat lounging about in the front yard. This is Z petting her, her buzz cut did feel really cool. He always called her the old Biddy, but now that she's gone, I think he misses her ;)

And now I tag...hmmm...so many options...I think you all should do it, it's fun to see what photos are lurking forgotten on the hard drive! But, I guess I will officially tag: Cara, Julie, Marcia, Ellie, Sylvia...have fun! And my sisters are ALWAYS tagged (even you can do it, Tooks, since you can't get to your recent pics but you should be able to get to the ones you already downloaded...)

(And happy 1st birthday, Colin!)

Hee Hee Hee.... guess what! I get to be the first person to comment :) The pics of your cats are cute, even if they aren't smiling. Now, our poor Queenie, on the other hand,I think she'll have a thing or two to meow to you, Fiona, when she sees you eventually... I am glad that you put in the disclaimer that I did actually take very good care of her ('member when you and Dad LOST Queenie?!) p.s. I'd rather see pics of N&B xox

I loved shaved Queenie! We should have done it when we first got her, it always seemed to bring her attitude down a few notches!
