Bran watching the kitesurfers. Our beach always has them on windy days. Ooooh, the temptation to take up kitesurfing since we live TWO BLOCKS away. We discussed it and somehow logic won. (I've noticed he tends to be somewhat of a party-pooper...) The expense of the set-up vs. how often we think we would go, especially together, since, let's face it, that makes it more fun...(that was an incomplete sentence, but I don't feel like fixing it. Instead I just spent LONGER explaining I wasn't going to fix it...efficient.) There were six colorful kites out there today, when we were biking past, they're pretty cool to watch, those guys can really catch some air!
Nuala, the sand terrier.
And here we have the flinging. Poor Bran, he fell victim to accidental "sanding" several times. The wind was not his friend. Look at that innocent little guy..."ho-hum, ho-hum, I have fingers...AHHH, MY EYES!"
And what trip to the beach is complete without a death-grip fight over trash? Luckily, there is always enough trash on Carrasco beach to go around.
What a tantalizing post, huh!? Soon it will be warm enough to actually...go in the water! Though we will still crazy-miss real Halloween weather. Things are just not spooky in the spring.

Hmm surves Zac right for complaining about Mathias throwing sand.. HAHAHA
oh well this to will pass Im sure
Ha ha, i was laughing so hard through the whole thing!! I especially liked the death-grip fight over the piece of trash--awesome! I wish we lived closer to a beach, how fun for you guys!
and I agree: love the warm weather, but Halloween is not spooky in the spring. You just get all sweaty in your Halloween costume.
I love your Bran narrations, ho hum ho hum... So funny! They are super cute, I love the fighting over trash picture!
I remember the days of southern Texas beaches. I miss them, so it is good to see your family enjoying your time on your beach. The kitesurfing looks amazing. I've always wanted to try something like that. I also loved seeing the bball pics and comments. Our ward is more into book discussions and quilting. Since my accident almost 2 years ago I can't play anyway unless it is with people 2 and under and then sometimes I still can't keep up.
Hey Zac, didn't you say you are coming to Brussels some time in October? If so, when? We should try to make a point to do something fun... Oh, and if you are coming the last week then Megan will be in the States getting her Visa.
P.S. I love the action shot of Nuala throwing the sand. Your camera takes great pictures (after our last trip I can't say I'm as pleased with ours!). Anyway, take care guys!!
It is so great to have an opportunity to live so close to the beach, even if it is only for a couple of years.
About kite surfing; I tried Wind Surfing earlier this year, and if kite surfing is at all similar, which I think it is...It is probably best you didn't take it up. It takes a lot of practice (time consuming...) before you even get close to leaving the water like you see people doing, and in the mean time you hit the water face first many many times. I think I fell off the board 20 times in 30 minutes. It was fun though, I will do it again.
So cute. What a spunky daughter you have. I hope you guys have a ton of fun at the beach. Way to take advantage of the opportunity.
Oh! I LOVE the beach! I think beaches are my favorite places on earth. Don't know which one is my favorite though since I haven't been to them all. Yet. I envy you guys, being able to walk to the beach from your house. Nuala sure looks happy there. We have a little sand thrower too... Jack does it differently though. He just tosses it into the air. His hair/scalp is forever coated with sandbox sand.
I do LOVE fall here though. Tomorrow we are going to a birthday party at Remlinger Farms- There is a hay maze there, farm animals and a pumpkin patch and all things Fall. I do love this time of year... Enjoy the beach though! I know you will. You all seem to have so much fun!
They are so cute I love the shot of Naula being a sand terrier. Poor bran, have fun love you guys!
Hi there....I wanted to be there too...and maybe dig for "spoons" ...My fav pic is the sand-throwing one; it's an awesome action shot. I was LOL, of course, again, at your diction... I'm glad I taught you so well...ho hum .....hee hee :) xox
Those kiddos are certainly so cute. I feel your pain RE: the fall weather. We are nice and toasty here as well. I recently packed all our coats up and put them into storage, because I finally realized that we really just won't be needing them here. Enjoy that beach!
Cute pictures! Nuala looks very enthusiastic about the sand flinging...
I would love to try kite surfing as well. Looks like a ton of fun. I love that they fight over the beach trash... It's like that line from The Mosquito Coast- "If you can't find it on the beach, you don't need it." I totally don't mind warm Halloweens- it's the cold 4th of July's that I think would suck... though living abroad- probably don't really get to celebrate those anyways.
That must be weird with the weather there, but its not always cold here on Halloween so don't feel bad! I guess having the beach that close makes up for a lot of things!!!!
