Okay, if y'all remember, a few posts back I mentioned that Bran still wakes up at night to nurse and I was sad to night-wean, etc., etc. BUT...we did it! Maybe. Last night he slept all night long, from 6:30 pm to a little after 7 this morning ...ahhhhh...a full night's sleep. Well, if Nuala hadn't had a fever and woken up at 3 a.m., we would have enjoyed that too, but as it was only Bran had the experience. And then she didn't get up this morning till almost 9, which has kinda thrown off the whole meal and nap routine we have going. I mean, it's best to do everything at the same time with twins, otherwise you're just going back and forth all day long. And they HAVE TO "nap" at the same time, whether they actually sleep or not. That's just for my sanity.
Anyway, we started Friday night just having Zachariah go in and snuggle/pat/sing when Bran woke up, so it really didn't take all that long for the little guy to realize he can sleep through the night. Okay, I'm probably totally jinxing us by celebrating after one night of him sleeping, but I had visions of this being a lot more painful for all involved, so yay! When Bran used to get up, Z would go bring him to our bed and I'd put him back. In between he'd nurse some, and then talk and giggle and play a LOT. Which was cute and fun but disruptive to me and him, too. And sometimes Z if he wasn't conked out deeply enough. A benefit of him not getting up at night (besides SLEEP) is that he's been seeming a little snugglier during the day. And I make sure to give him all the snuggles he needs. Usually more. (I'm talking about Bran now, not Zachariah. Though I try to give him enough snuggles, too.)
So this is just a yippee post. I think a full night's sleep is finally, FINALLY, just around the corner for me... :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
ETA: I posted this and remembered that it's April Fool's Day, and am adding that this is not a joke. At least it better not be. Ooooh, if this is Bran's idea of being clever... stay tuned.

Hi Fiona,
I'm always celebrating over a good night's sleep! We are definitely in the throws of that right now with Wes. We miss you guys a lot! I hope when Zac comes into town that he'll stop by and say hello--I saw your mom on Sunday and I need to get glasses because from far away I thought it was you! My eyes really are starting to go bad. Anyway, Today I put a raisin in Mike's toothpaste and he totally freaked out, you should try that--ciao!

aaaaaahhhhhhhh sleeping through the night. It is such a grand thing! Congrats! Don't be dismayed if he regresses at times. Inching towards manhood takes awhile.
Hey thats they same way we got Mathias to start sleeping thru the night!! It must be a boy thing. I dont think he woke up to much after that. Good luck they are so cute.
wow! We are excited at the progress! By the way, Bran looks like Liam in that doggy hole picture. We wish we could be there to snuggle him too! (Bran, not Zac...no offense).
Love, Tara and Mom
Good for you! I always have to have Justins help at night when we start that to, the just wont take no from mom!
Okay, I'm saying many prayers of thanks that Baby Girl hasn't nursed at night since she was 10 weeks old. How did you survive that long without a full night's sleep?! Hats off to you.
