Hooray! We have internet again! Seriously, a week without it and I thought I'd go crazy. Though we did, oddly enough, spend more time doing "productive" things.
AND, guess what?! I taught Relief Society (Sociedad de Socorro) yesterday. In Spanish. And it actually went pretty well. But, wow, the nerves!! As I was preparing, I was hit with this thought over and over: "How can I ever justify being nervous about teaching in ENGLISH again?!" Though, of course, I probably will be. I haven't been called as a RS teacher, I was just filling in. But, I did enjoy it, it was a good challenge, and it definitely helps my Spanish. I was nervous, but excited for the opportunity, ya know? And the sisters in our barrio are so sweet and helpful. ...Eeek...am I about to say this? Guess I am: I wouldn't mind teaching regularly...(but don't necessarily tell el obispo!) Zachariah gave a talk in Spanish in November, he did a great job, and didn't even seem nervous, but I've only borne my testimony and said prayers. A lesson is different, more fluid, it can and has to change so you hafta think/translate on the spot. I'm just very happy that it's over and that I was able to do it! Thanks for listening :) My wonderful hubby was saddled with both kiddos. He just corraled them in an empty classroom and called it good, though.
So, anyway, we're back. I know y'all were checking on us everyday, just waiting and wondering...but wait and wonder no longer! Now we just hafta catch up on email and everyone else's blogs...
