Our house

I didn't mention our house in our Uruguay post. That's because it's worthy of it's very own post. Our house is awesome! Here are some things we love:

Balconies/Roof: I just really like that we have little balconies off each room, and a bigger one on the back of the house. There's a stairway outside from the back balcony to the backyard, and a little ladder up to the roof so you can hang out up there.

Big, jetted bathtub: Except for the first time I used it. I ran a nice steamy bath, had my bath pillow in place for the first time, then turned on the jets and sank deep into the water. Then I noticed all the gunk shooting out of the jets. I didn't continue with the bath that day, but Zachariah was a sweetie and cleaned it for me. Now I really enjoy it, the twins do, too :) It's so easy to bathe them if you just hop in with them, and they love all the bubbles from the jets.

Heated floors: So nice in the morning! (It is winter here, after all...)

Alarm system: Okay, I really don't love the alarm system, but it's to keep us safe, so I'll grudgingly admire it. And it works really well. I "tested" it our 2nd night here. It was 4am and I'd gotten up to pee and noticed this really bright light outside, so, like anyone would do, I opened our bathroom window for a better look, because honestly, it was like a blazing sun. As soon as I pulled the window handle I remember the darn alarm. Right away a robotic voice began to calmly announce, "Intruder, intruder, intruder..." while a really loud beepy siren went off. Dang. Zac got up and turned it off, then about 3 minutes later the security guys show up at our door. While Zac's talking to them, some other security guys called on the phone. So, yeah, don't mess with our house. And, yes, it woke up the otherwise peacefully sleeping babies, and the dumb light was just our outdoor light on the balcony.

Master bedroom closet: It's more of a large hallway leading from our bedroom to the bathroom, with built-in drawers, closets, shoe racks, trouser-hangers, everything. With sliding doors and 3 full-length mirrors. Heaven.

Lemon tree: We have the cutest lemon tree in our backyard. It's a fairly small yard, and the tree is only a couple of years old, but there are already tons of lemons!

Quincho: This is the little partying building outside by the pool. It has a table and chairs, a kitchenette and fridge, and it's very own parilla. (That's the Uruguayan grill) It'll be fun to start using!

So it's winter time huh? we could really use some cool weather here, we've hit over 15 days straight of being in the 100's!!! I love that you can hang out on your roof, and you have a pool, and the beach so close!

Next assignment, more pictures of Bran and Nuala!

Clearly I need to relocate to a third-world country. :) (or second world, maybe). The Hobbit Hole just doesn't compare. :)
