In the Umpqua

We're in Uruguay and finally have internet so now we are back -posting.

We left Virginia July 19 to visit family and move some of our stuff back to Texas. I also was once again in trouble for leaving the kids with Fiona as I went to Oregon to get in a last camping trip before heading to Uruguay. I met my cousins in Rogue River and we headed out to the Umpqua to do some camping and swimming. The Umpqua is a place we have been camping at for more then 20 years. It's a great river, lots of fun swimming holes. My Aunt Rochelle is a great cook, she came along to play and she made the best camping food. Without her it would have been nothing but baked potatoes for the week. The week went by too quick.

Yeah! You're back. Sorry you got in trouble for leaving for the week. I think you are incredibly lucky to have Fiona as a wife. Not so many other people would have agreed to let you go in the first place, especially not with twin 7 month olds, and a move involved. Before you know it you will be old enough to take the Bran and Nuala with you and you will be the hero. I hope you are having a wonderful time in Montevideo.

I am the guy on the far left in the picture. I was having fun, despite what my face looks like. I had a horrible stomachache right at the end of our trip--turns out I had a protozoa and was working on a pretty good GI infection. Ahh good times....nothing a 3-day hospital stay won't cure!

Don't worry it wasn't from the Umpqua river.

I got it from the Illinois river on the previous weekend. Daniel and his friend both got it too. They didn't get as sick as me of course. Go figure...

Good to finally hear from you guys!
