Ready to be amazed? Today I took the twins to their 6-month checkup...all by myself..."What!?" you say in awe, "all by yourself!?" Yes, just me, solo, not another person. Alone. And all three of us survived relatively unscathed! Unless Nuala catches something nasty from the crusty Matchbox bulldozer she found on the floor and was cramming in her mouth. That just builds the immune system...
Poor munchkins did get shots, of course, and it struck me as a tad bit funny that here was their loving mommy holding them down so a strange lady could stick big painful needles in their chubby little thighs, and the whole time I was whispering in their ears, "It's okay, it's okay." I'm quite convinced they didn't buy it. If I had that baby translator from the Simpson's, I think this is what I would've heard: "How is this 'okay'? Of course it's okay for you, but I'm the one being jabbed! ...you'll be hearing from me late, late, late tonight, Mom..."
Nuala's 17lbs3oz, 26.5 inches long, and Bran is 17lbs10oz, 27 inches long. Good job babies, way to grow! And I wrangled all 34 pounds of them by myself (sigh of satisfaction). Taking them out alone is one thing, but having to strip, hold down, entertain, comfort, and redress two babies myself was a daunting prospect...maybe it doesn't sound that difficult, and thankfully it ended up that it wasn't, but mentally I was a bit concerned at the 2-babies-to-1-me odds. But, I did it! And without chocolate. I definitely deserve some Loaded Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream tonight.

Hi there! That was indeed a feat to be able to handle it all yourself. The poor little things...getting shots. They must have passed their "inspections" I am sure...they are getting big and fat (well, heavy anyway). You were prob fairly exhausted by the time you got home Fiona. GOOD JOB!!! Hmmm, you mean Zac missed all the fun?! We love you all, Mom (and Dad too).
Way to go Fiona! Pretty impressive.
You dig into that ice cream you totally deserve it!!!! But I do have to say, you better get use to the 2-1 odds it's going to be that way alot! Oh and where's some pictures??????
Yeah, I suppose I do need to get used to it! Part of me thinks it will get easier once they can walk and do more stuff themselves, but that will prob be harder in some ways. At least till they're 12 or something...
Way to go Fiona. You will just keep getting better. I am glad your babies are all healthy. Did they keep you up?
Way to go Fiona! It takes a lot of strength to do that. It's a lot easier now while they can't walk or run in opposite directions and are easily more entertained by simple things. It must be hard having two maybe you should add another =}.
Good job Fiona! It's hard work getting 2 out at once, let alone doing the whole doctor's appointment by yourself. Way to go!! You definitely deserved your ice cream. :)
