We're not ready!

Aaack! Mobility! Monday, Bran rolled from his tummy to his back FOUR times in a row! Of course, I was the only one there to witness it and he will not do it on command, but he definitely did it. This morning, Nuala rolled from her back to her tummy, something she has been comtemplating doing for some time now, balancing on her side as she arches her back and cranes her neck to see what's behind her. Actually, she first rolled from her back to her tummy yesterday, if one counts rolling from her back on the couch to her tummy on the floor. Yes, I had a terrible mom moment and left her on the couch while I was putting Bran on their playmat after nursing them. I feel horrible. I can still hear Aislinn's sharp intake of breath from across the room as I turned to get my little girl, only to see her tumbling in slow motion off the cushion. Nuala was/is fine, but of course all the different scenarios go rolling through my head whenever I think about it. At least it will keep me from doing it again, hopefully. Check that one off my list and move on to the next mom mishap, right?

While I'm feeling confessional, Bran had a rough moment yesterday, too. He's been waking up once or twice for the past several nights just famished (growth spurt?), so I've been nursing him in the little wooden rocking chair in their room. Usually I nurse on the big couch downstairs because I feed both of them at the same time, but Nuala is still going about 11 hours at night...Anyway, I've been really tired during these early morning feedings, and yesterday at 3ish I dozed off just enough to conk my little guy's head on the hard armrest. I woke up immediately, as did Bran. He's fine, too. Now I will really make sure my arm is on the armrest on whichever side his head is. Oh, also just today he's sat up really straight in his boppy, and Nuala is almost there, too. I love hanging out with these babies and watching them change day to day! Despite being told it, I surely didn't know that being a mom would be so much fun, as well as guilt-inducing :)

With all this rolling, crawling can't be that far off, then walking...We're not ready to babyproof!

Welcome to parenthood. Don't feel too bad. I opened the front door and knocked McKenzie in the head. then she fell on her back hitting her head again on the wood floor. After a couple minutes of crying (I won't say who) she got up and walked away like nothing happened. It's amazing how quickly they forgive and how long you won't forget. If you want I can send the girls over to teach them how to crawl and walk early.=>

Nuala gets to sleep 11 hours a night?! Man I'm jealous! They both sound like fun.
