Yay, eight weeks old yesterday! The babies are sleeping better at night, for the most part, and are becoming more and more interactive.
Bran is grinning and talking lots more, especially during diaper changes and when he's supposed to be nursing first thing in the morning. I love how he gazes adoringly up at me, while Nuala just gets down to business.
She's starting to smile a bit more, and loves to stare and smile at herself in the mirror. She's so much daintier than Bran, her hands are delicate, and she's definitely not as chunky. She has the hugest belches, though. Zachariah calls them "Barney belches" or "lip-flappers," after the drunk guy on The Simpsons. Nuala is so proud.
They sleep at night wrapped in Miracle Blankets, which are blankets designed to pin their arms securely to their sides. These work great usually, but the past couple of nights, Nuala has been wriggling out the top of the blanket and ends up a head or so above her brother.
Then, since her arms have come out the top and are flailing gaily about, she whacks him over and over in the head. He doesn't enjoy that so much.
This has been interrupting their long 5-ish hour stretch of sleep we've come to count and depend upon during the night, so hopefully we can figure out how to curtail the busting-out of Nuala's arms.
We're having so much fun with these babies!
