Remnants of pre-baby life

The past few days Z and I have been returning to some of our pre-baby activities, which was kinda weird, but definitely nice!

I've been dying to play basketball again, and kept saying I'd be ready to play soon after the babies came, but didn't really know if that was likely. Well, it was, only 3-1/2 weeks later! I got to play Saturday, at the beginning of the stake bball season, and while I was pretty darn tired and a bit sore afterwards, I played the whole time and did an okay job. I was a bit slower, couldn't jump as high, and was a tad more top-heavy, but give me a couple of weeks to get back in shape and I'll be good as new! Hmmm...except for the top-heavy part, but I'll hafta get used to that for the next few months. My doc did give me the go-ahead to exercise, and I'm happy to report that all my insides stayed where they're supposed to, no pancreas popping out onto the court or anything...it was so much fun, and felt really good to be playing again!

Yesterday, Zachariah got to go rock climbing, something he loves to do, but hasn't been able to these past few months. He wasn't physically unable to climb, but we've been busy, I couldn't go with him, he was outa country, etc., etc. The weather was wonderful yesterday, so he and a climbing buddy from church, Brian, headed out to Great Falls for a couple of hours. This was permissable only because my wonderful mother is in town to help out with the babies for a few weeks.

We also all went to church on Sunday! To the first hour, anyway. Z's been going every Sunday, but the babies and I haven't been. It went okay...next week we'll remember to bring the diaper bag and some pacifiers. Really, we just showed up with the little ones in their car seats. Not too smart. Z spent almost the whole time out in the foyer with his charge (Bran), while Mom and I got to stay in the chapel, since my charge (Nuala) was pretty sleepy.

It feels great to be slowly returning to some semi-normal activities. Of course, to do anything requires a ton of planning and advance preparation, but that will only make us appreciate it more. And we wouldn't want it any other way, these two little ones are worth it!
