I had another wonderful baby shower thrown for me Saturday night. A couple of weeks back, my neighbor, Laura, hosted a terrific neighborhood one, and this was a shower thrown/attended mostly by church friends -- so many people came! I feel very blessed to have had such a turnout to celebrate our babies. My visiting teacher, Cindy, hosted the shower, even though she's pregnant herself and not feeling well, has 3 other kids (oldest is 5), and made me an adorable present! Yes, made it herself. On a sewing machine. Amazing. Erin and Kristen (Erin's sis-in-law) helped, too, it was a lot of fun!
The mountain of presents seemed to take forever to go through, now I'm working on thank-you notes, which takes even longer! We have so many clothes and stuff for the babies, I'm beginning to worry it won't all fit in our house. Then I realize that we probably still don't have enough stuff! Guess we'll find out one way or another. Why do such small little people need so much stuff??? At least it's cute stuff.
There were some surprises mingled in with the presents. As I was reading the cute saying on one card, my eye caught the name "McKenna" (my neice) at the bottom in familiar handwriting...Zac's sister, Maria, had sent a gift all the way from Washington! As had his other sister, Heidi, and his mom, who made us a big pile of blankets for the twins. That was very sweet of them, especially since they'd already given us a lot of stuff :)
One of my friends, Linda, the bishop's wife, who I play basketball with when not large with child(ren), gave me a cute basketball scrunchie, along with adorable baby clothes. For some reason, I've always wanted one, so I was probably too excited about that! Half of the group gift was an Ergo baby carrier (the other half was a baby swing...the fishie one like Sari has). I love it! We'll just hafta buy one more eventually now. We got a pic of Zac trying it on his back with Liam in it. It holds up to 90 pounds, so his 35ish was nothing. Both Z and L were very comfortable, Liam didn't want to get out. We wanted to try Brigit in it, since she's more of a baby -- well, is a baby -- but it was very close to bedtime and she was a bit fussy, so we'll save that for later.
It was a very enjoyable evening, I'm so grateful for such good friends and for all they do for us!
